Clerk - Deli Department

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Clerk - Deli Department to join our team at Kroger. As a key member of our deli department, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, maintaining a safe and clean environment, and assisting the department manager in achieving sales and profit goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Promote trust and respect among associates, creating a positive work environment.
• Provide excellent customer service, answering questions and making product recommendations.
• Maintain knowledge of products, including slicing meats and cheeses, preparing bakery items, and offering samples.
• Inform customers of specials, ensure accurate orders, and maintain high-quality standards.
• Adequately prepare ingredients, check product quality, and adhere to food safety regulations.
• Labor with kitchen equipment, computerized scales, fryers, steamers, and robot coupe machines.
• Label, stock, and inventory merchandise, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
• Report discrepancies, maintain temperature logs, and practice preventive maintenance.
• Emphasize safety awareness, identifying risks and notifying management as necessary.

Ideal Candidate:

• Demonstrates effective communication skills and strong leadership behaviors.
• Can handle stressful situations and possesses basic math skills.
• Displays initiative, actively listening and problem-solving abilities.
