Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Associate Administrator to join our team at Transition Finance Strategies LLC. As a key member of our retirement plan administration team, you will play a critical role in supporting the service of our clients' 401(k) plans throughout the yearly plan cycle, with a focus on loans and distributions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional customer service to clients and referral sources, responding to questions and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Accurately interpret plan documents to determine eligibility for participant transactions, including loans and distributions.
  • Process and complete transactions in a timely manner, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Enter distribution information on required tracking lists and software, including 1099-R and internal checklists.
  • Calculate, prepare, and process Required Minimum Distributions.
  • Coordinate with other service providers, including financial advisors, investment companies, CPAs, payroll, and actuaries.
  • Continually develop and increase knowledge of retirement plan rules and regulations, attending webcasts, department meetings, and pursuing credentials and continuing education.
  • Review peer distributions for accuracy and send required notices and distribution packages.
  • Process mandatory distributions and set up automatic rollovers for eligible participants.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Math, Business, or Economics preferred. Will consider an applicant with an Associate degree along with demonstration of strong analytical skills and excellent Excel skills and/or prior experience.
  • Basic Accounting knowledge or aptitude in mathematics.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, with knowledge of MS Word mail merge using Excel a plus.
  • Ability to comprehend and explain complex information to others.
  • Must be able to quickly address, research, and solve problems.
  • Capable of meeting deadlines and managing dynamic workloads.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
