Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our team at SSM Health. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in performing diagnostic procedures using ultrasound waves to examine tissue and body structure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform diagnostic procedures using ultrasound waves to examine tissue and body structure
  • Provide high-quality images for interpretation and work closely with radiologists to ensure accurate diagnoses
  • Set up and adjust equipment, as well as manually maneuver transducers to perform exams
  • Implement safety standards and perform quality control procedures
  • Recognize significant structures, artifacts, pathology, and equipment limitations
  • Ensure equipment is properly functioning and report any potential problems or malfunctions to appropriate personnel
  • Maintain a clean and orderly department, including procedure rooms, storage areas, and dressing rooms
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory agencies
  • Work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner
Requirements:
  • Associate's degree or completion of a Sonography certification program
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) with Abdomen (AB) Specialty, Breast (BR) Specialty, or Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN) Specialty
  • Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) certification
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Physical Requirements:
  • Constant standing and walking
  • Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near and far
  • Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication
  • Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs
  • Frequent lifting/moving of patients
  • Frequent reaching, gripping, and keyboard use/data entry
