Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Telecommunications Engineer I to join our team at Network Building & Consulting. As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a critical role in supporting project teams with varying degrees of direct project responsibilities while developing a baseline knowledge of the telecommunications site development process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Site Development: Engineer tower and compound locations, including site layout, grading, stormwater management design, and culvert design, with a strong understanding of structural engineering concepts.
  • Construction Planning: Develop construction plans for telecommunications client equipment upgrades and modifications, ensuring compliance with building codes and regulations.
  • Design and Analysis: Prepare and review construction drawings for completeness, perform calculations conforming to building code requirements for structural design and analysis, and interact with internal multi-disciplinary team members to expedite project completion and approvals.
  • Project Coordination: Create effective job flow by tracking assigned tasks, prioritizing completion of assignments, and producing accurate drawings promptly and efficiently.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Learn telecommunications equipment and client-specific equipment and their usage, conduit design from client-specific standards, and evaluate designs for constructability.
Requirements
  • B.S. in Civil/Structural Engineering or Engineering Technology.
  • EIT preferred.
  • 0 to 3 years of engineering experience required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and structural engineering software (RISA 3D, Enercalc, tnxTower, Mathcad).
  • Understanding of transportation, civil, stormwater management design, culvert design, structural, and geotechnical principles.
  • Ability to interpret complex building, tower, and other structural drawings, and review and analyze site documentation.
