Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our team at CHRISTUS Health. As a Phlebotomist, you will be responsible for collecting and processing patient specimens for laboratory testing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect blood and other specimens from patients using venipuncture and capillary collection techniques.
- Ensure that specimens are properly labeled, processed, and transported to the laboratory for testing.
- Operate the laboratory computer system to document specimen information and patient registration.
- Communicate effectively with patients, nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and efficient specimen collection.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to infection control and safety protocols.
Requirements:
- Completion of a Phlebotomy, Medical Laboratory, or Medical Assistant program that includes phlebotomy.
- Certification from a National Accredited Program is preferred.
- One year of phlebotomy experience is preferred, but not required.
- Bilingual English/Spanish skills are preferred.
Work Schedule:
This is a per diem position, working as needed to support the laboratory's operational needs.
