About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Surgical Urology Assistant Physician to join our team at Prisma Health. As a key member of our medical staff, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and contributing to the success of our healthcare organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide surgical assistance in the operating room, working closely with surgeons to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients.
- Assist with prepping and completing procedures, ensuring all necessary steps are taken to maintain high standards of care.
- Remove drains, tubes, and catheters as required, demonstrating expertise and attention to detail.
- Closely work with surgeons to assist with patient office visits and assume call when assigned, providing seamless support and care.
- Accurately document patient care and billing information, maintaining accurate records and charts.
- Participate in ongoing education programs to enhance knowledge and skills, staying up-to-date on the latest advancements in capitated medicine and implications for physician practice patterns.
- Contribute to the development of quality assurance programs, utilization management programs, and other initiatives aimed at improving patient care and operational efficiency.
- Assist in the creation of operational and capital budgets, leveraging financial expertise to inform decision-making.
- Participate in operational assessments to identify revenue enhancement opportunities, expense reduction strategies, and consolidation efficiencies.
- Collaborate with surgeons to provide post-operative care, including daily rounds and wound assessments, ensuring the highest level of patient satisfaction.
Requirements
- Mastery of advanced clinical skills, with a focus on surgical assisting and patient care.
- A minimum of 1 year of clinical experience, preferably in a related field.
- Possession of a Master's Degree - Nursing; Nurse Practitioner Degree Emphasis or Program Certificate equivalent.
- Current certification as a SC Nurse Practitioner and CPR Certification.
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of a Nurse Practitioner Surgical Residency Program.
- Patient equipment operation skills (Vitals, Suction, Defib) and surgical assistant skills.
Salary Estimate
The salary range for this position is approximately $85,000 to $110,000 per year, based on factors such as location, experience, and qualifications.
