Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled MRI Technologist to join our team at Ochsner LSU Health System. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest level of patient care and safety while performing MRI procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Verify physician orders and procedures to ensure accuracy
  • Operate MRI equipment to complete imaging procedures according to protocol
  • Review patient images prior to transmission to ensure diagnostic quality standards
  • Perform quality control procedures and notify/remediate as necessary
  • Assist in departmental operations, including inventory, staff schedules, and equipment maintenance
Requirements
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
  • ARRT, ARMRIT, or CAMRT registration as an MR technologist, or ARRT registration with 6 months supervised MRI clinical scanning experience
  • Associate degree or bachelor's degree in an allied health field, and certification in another clinical imaging field, or 6 months supervised MRI clinical scanning experience
  • Advanced certification in MRI required by an organization recognized by the ACR Registry within two years of employment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced certification in MRI required by an organization recognized by the ACR Registry
  • Clinical MRI experience
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent exposure to blood, body fluids, and tissue. The incumbent must be able to stand for prolonged periods, stoop, bend, reach, and grab with arms and hands. Travel may be required throughout and between facilities.
