Plasma Center Medical Support Specialist

As a Medical Support Specialist at BioLife Plasma Services, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our donors. Your primary responsibility will be to determine donor eligibility, manage donor adverse events, and review laboratory test results. You will also be responsible for notifying donors of unsuitable test results and working under the guidance of the Center Manager and Center Physician.
Our ideal candidate will have a strong background in clinical or hospital settings, with a current EMT-Paramedic license and CPR/AED certification. You will also need to fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy and complete FDA-approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialists.
Key Responsibilities- Determine donor eligibility, including proper management of informed consent, AIDS education, and confidential self-exclusion
- Manage donor adverse events, including evaluating donor reactions and following applicable SOPs for medical emergencies
- Review laboratory test results and notify donors of unsuitable test results
- Work under the guidance of the Center Manager and Center Physician to ensure compliance with regulations and standards
- Support the Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees
- Manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER
