Bluefield University is seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to serve as Vice President for Enrollment Management. This key leadership position plays a critical role in shaping the university's enrollment strategy and ensuring the success of our students.

Job Summary:

The Vice President for Enrollment Management will provide vision, leadership, and management of the Enrollment Management area, responsible for the overall development and support of enrollment programs. This position serves as a member of the Executive Leadership Team and University Leadership Team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Chief Enrollment Officer: Serve as the chief enrollment officer of the university, overseeing the development and implementation of enrollment strategies.
  • Marketing and Recruitment: Oversee marketing and recruitment efforts, ensuring effective communication with prospective students and their families.
  • Admissions Operations: Manage the admissions operations, including the hiring and supervision of admissions personnel.
  • Enrollment Goals: Set and monitor new student enrollment goals with the admissions staff and the University Leadership Team.
  • Financial Aid and Budgets: Collaborate with the financial aid staff, the business office, and the University Leadership Team in establishing a matrix of financial assistance and discount rates.
  • Enrollment Management: Ensure that enrollment management activities are managed effectively, including the administration of budgets and admissions policies.
  • Data Analysis: Collect and analyze enrollment and financial aid data, providing insights to inform enrollment strategies.
  • Admissions Data Reporting: Administer admissions data reporting, both internal and external.
  • Marketing Research: Collaborate with the Marketing Committee to conduct appropriate marketing research to support all student-marketing decisions.
  • Recruitment Plan: Develop and implement a comprehensive recruitment plan that addresses strategies for diverse constituencies.
  • Creative Leadership: Exercise creative leadership in developing a collaborative process that effectively integrates all admissions sectors of the university.
  • Communication: Promote within the university an attitude that recruitment and retention are everyone's responsibility, and communicate the university's mission with external audiences.
  • Retention Initiatives: Coordinate with Academics and Student Development to monitor the retention initiatives and programs of the university.
  • Administrative Liaison: Serve as an administrative liaison to the Enrollment Management Committee of the Board of Trustees.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Supervise Employees: Supervise employees in enrollment management, including interviewing, hiring, and training.
  • Performance Appraisal: Appraise the performance of employees, providing feedback and coaching to improve performance.
  • Employee Development: Plan, assign, and direct work, as well as reward and discipline employees as needed.
Requirements:
  • Education: Hold a master's degree in higher education or a related field from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Experience: Possess significant administrative experience in collegiate-level enrollment management.
  • Skills: Demonstrate excellent organizational, interpersonal, and writing skills, as well as the ability to speak to audiences in a coherent, engaging, and professional manner.
  • Business Acumen: Possess business acumen and an understanding of planning, budgets, and institutional operations.
  • Leadership: Have a proven ability to inspire and motivate others, and demonstrate an appreciation for shared governance.
  • Commitment: Demonstrate a commitment to the university's mission and the value of Christian higher education.
