Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Mental Health Counselor Intern to join our team at the Department of Mental Health-MHC Lexington. As a Mental Health Counselor Intern, you will play a vital role in providing evidence-based services to individuals with mental illnesses.

Responsibilities:

Serve on the Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team, providing intensive outpatient treatment services in accordance with the ACT model.
Facilitate access to 12-step groups and other community resources.
Provide direct services to patients using cognitive behavioral approaches and relapse prevention techniques.
Facilitate person-centered planning for assigned beneficiaries.
Participate in clinical supervision, treatment team meetings, and pursue professional development.
Complete documentation according to QA/SCDMH standards and ensure timely completion of prior authorizations.

Requirements:

Master's degree in guidance, counseling, or a related field.
Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus.
Ability to work flexible hours and provide services in the community and patients' homes.
Evidence of clinical experience providing direct patient care, which may be documented as a practicum or internship during graduate program, or post-graduate clinical experience.
