We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Patient Care Assistant to join our team at Nationwide Children's Hospital. As a Patient Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to our patients and their families.
Key Responsibilities- Perform basic supportive care to patients under the direction and supervision of an RN/Care Manager.
- Collect, document, and report data to the RN Care Manager, ensuring accurate and timely information.
- Provide age-appropriate care and services to pediatric patients from birth to 21 years, and selected adult patients.
- Assist with procedures, hold and position patients, and prep materials and supplies as needed.
- Ensure environmental standards are met and all clinic and patient areas are stocked, cleaned, and maintained.
- Identify learning needs and attend continuing education as appropriate, participating in educational activities offered by the business unit.
- Act as a preceptor for orientation and training of other PCA staff.
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- State Tested Nursing Assistant strongly preferred.
- Current CPR (BLS for healthcare provider required).
- Sound written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated basic computer skills.
- Must demonstrate competence in providing age-appropriate care and services to pediatric patients of all ages and selected adult patients.
