About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Patient Care Assistant to join our team at Nationwide Children's Hospital. As a Patient Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to our patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform basic supportive care to patients under the direction and supervision of an RN/Care Manager.
  • Collect, document, and report data to the RN Care Manager, ensuring accurate and timely information.
  • Provide age-appropriate care and services to pediatric patients from birth to 21 years, and selected adult patients.
  • Assist with procedures, hold and position patients, and prep materials and supplies as needed.
  • Ensure environmental standards are met and all clinic and patient areas are stocked, cleaned, and maintained.
  • Identify learning needs and attend continuing education as appropriate, participating in educational activities offered by the business unit.
  • Act as a preceptor for orientation and training of other PCA staff.
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • State Tested Nursing Assistant strongly preferred.
  • Current CPR (BLS for healthcare provider required).
  • Sound written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated basic computer skills.
  • Must demonstrate competence in providing age-appropriate care and services to pediatric patients of all ages and selected adult patients.
