Bus Transportation Specialist

As a Bus Driver for Boys & Girls Clubs of Middle Tennessee, you will be responsible for safely transporting Club members from affiliated schools to designated Club locations and over specified routes. You will also be responsible for inspecting and maintaining the bus, as well as completing a bus log according to organization policy.
Responsibilities and Requirements:
Essential Job Functions & Accountability:
- Review and adhere to the organization's transportation policy and procedures.
- Inspect the vehicle daily and report any safety hazards or maintenance needs.
- Complete a driver/vehicle checklist and obtain and review routes.
- Communicate safety rules and expected behavior during travel to passengers.
- Ensure passenger numbers do not exceed available seats and observe passengers to enforce their safety entering/leaving the minibus.
- Practice safe driving by adhering to speed limits and local traffic regulations.
- Maintain order and discipline of Club members using BGCA-approved processes.
- Complete a Vehicle Trip Information Report and ensure the vehicle is serviced according to the service schedule.
- Clean the inside of the vehicle daily and complete an incident report on any injuries that occur on the bus.
- Report delays, accidents, and all safety-related incidents.
- Complete other related reports as required.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Must have a valid Tennessee State CDL Class C with a P endorsement.
- Must have a valid medical certificate (pass D.O.T. physical every two years).
- CPR Certification.
- Must pass a drug/alcohol test and pass testing done at random, post-accident, and for reasonable suspicion after employment.
- Possess a safe driving record as documented by a clean seven-year MVR.
- Experience driving a vehicle to transport passengers, preferably in a minibus or bus, in a city and urban environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Hours: Monday - Friday, 2pm - 5pm.
Compensation: $70/day and an additional $30/hr for anything over 3 hours (e.g. field trips).
