As a Store Associate at DSW, you will provide exceptional customer service to customers shopping in-store and through omni-channel services. You will assess customer needs and provide assistance by executing the company's customer service model, always putting the customer first. Your responsibilities will include performing salesfloor and warehouse functions, assisting customers, placing merchandise, completing online and in-store transactions, processing incoming shipments, and maintaining a clean and safe environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Customer Service: Greet every customer with a helpful and friendly approach, reading customer cues and matching their needs with your service level.
  • Cashwrap: Complete customer transactions while following DSW's policies and procedures, ensuring accuracy in counting money and providing change.
  • Store Operations: Maintain a neat, clean, and safe environment for customers, including clearing trash, returning shoes to their designated areas, and cleaning the associate breakroom and public restrooms.
  • Merchandising: Receive inbound freight, prepare and place merchandise on the sales floor according to DSW standards, complete markdowns, and maintain clearance standards.
  • Fulfillment: Complete all functions of the fulfillment process, including locating items, inspecting product condition, packaging, and label placement.
  • Asset Protection: Follow all asset protection policies and procedures.
  • Personal Development: Actively participate in daily team meetings and ongoing training, and be open to coaching and feedback.

Requirements

  • Professional, friendly, and respectful demeanor.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to move with tempo to meet time-bound expectations.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in using technology to engage with customers.
  • Ability to spend up to 100% of working time standing or walking around the store.
  • Lifting ability, including lifting up to 50 pounds on an occasional to frequent basis.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year of retail experience as a Cashier, Retail Floor Generalist, or Store Receiver.
