Medical Laboratory Technician Job Description

At Texas Oncology, we are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technician to support our Laboratory Department at our 2410 Round Rock Avenue #150 location in Round Rock, Texas.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform accurate and efficient specimen analysis, instrument maintenance, and quality control procedures.
  • Initiate and follow quality assurance and safety policies and procedures.
  • Collect and process specimens, and assist with patient flow as needed.
  • Support and adhere to the US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.
Requirements:
  • Associates degree in medical technology or laboratory science or related science field.
  • Current state license if required.
  • AMT, ASCP or equivalent certification preferred but not required.
  • Level 1: Entry-level position with no experience required.
  • Level 2: Three years of experience required.
  • Level Sr: Five years of experience required.
Work Environment:

The work environment is fast-paced and requires significant interaction with management, staff, and external auditors and clients. Frequent travel by air or automobile is required, approximately 70% of the workweek, on average.
