As a vital member of our aviation team, you will be responsible for piloting rotary wing aircraft, ensuring the highest standards of safety and efficiency in all operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain the ultimate authority for the safe operation of the aircraft.
- Verify that the assigned aircraft is airworthy and that all necessary documentation is onboard.
- Make informed decisions regarding flight acceptance, rejection, or termination based on operational conditions.
- Employ effective Crew Resource Management (CRM) techniques to enhance safety and communication.
- Represent the company positively to vendors, colleagues, and patients through professional conduct.
- Actively engage in the Safety Management System to uphold operational integrity.
- Gather and analyze flight briefings, including weather and operational procedures, to plan assignments effectively.
- Ensure compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) and operational specifications.
- Follow established flight plans or authorized locating procedures on each flight.
- Confirm that the aircraft adheres to weight and balance requirements as outlined in the Flight Manual.
- Promptly report any known or suspected FAA violations or incidents to the Chief Pilot.
- Conduct thorough checks of all aircraft equipment.
- Brief medical crew members and passengers on all phases of the flight.
- Report maintenance discrepancies to the appropriate personnel and ensure operational status is communicated.
Qualifications:
- Current FAA Commercial Certificate for Rotorcraft and Helicopter; Instrument rating for Helicopter.
- Valid FAA 2nd Class Medical Certificate.
- Minimum of 1700 total flight hours.
- Previous experience in air medical services and familiarity with Bell 407 aircraft is preferred.
