The City of Novato, CA is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to fill the position of Police Officer Trainee. As a Police Officer Trainee, you will have the opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge in law enforcement and become a valuable member of our team.

Job Summary

The Police Officer Trainee will participate in a comprehensive training program at a P.O.S.T. certified Police Academy, where you will acquire the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully as a Police Officer. Upon successful completion of the Academy, you will be sworn in as a full Police Officer and assigned to an approximately sixteen (16) week field training program.

Responsibilities
  • Participate in and successfully complete a comprehensive training program at a P.O.S.T. certified Police Academy.
  • Acquire the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully as a Police Officer.
  • Acquire the physical conditioning needed to meet the requirements of the Police Department.
  • Following successful completion of the P.O.S.T. Academy, the trainee will be sworn in as a full Police Officer and be assigned to an approximately sixteen (16) week field training program.
Requirements
  • Minimum age - 21 years.
  • Must have successfully completed all requirements, testing, and selection processes for appointment as a probationary Police Officer.
