Job Overview:
The Quality Inspector is responsible for ensuring that products meet specified standards and regulations. This role reports directly to the QA Supervisor/Manager and involves training on various levels of inspection techniques.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough visual and test inspections of components and products.
- Document defects and manage buybacks effectively.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, including the Blue Flag Policy.
- Utilize Quality Work Instructions (QWI's) and maintain accurate records in the Action Item Maintenance System (AIMS).
- Perform audits and inspections for assembly and manufacturing processes.
Essential Skills:
- Knowledge of visual inspection criteria and locomotive requirements.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, micrometers, and gauges.
- Strong mathematical skills and intermediate computer proficiency (e.g., Microsoft Excel).
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and push/pull up to 75 lbs.
- Frequent walking and sustained bending, crouching, and climbing.
- Comfortable working in various environments, including confined spaces and at heights.
