Job Summary

A Business Development Manager at Tenet Healthcare is responsible for establishing and fostering relationships with physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, practice managers, schedulers, and local EMS providers to grow and develop Tenet hospitals and service lines.

Primary Desired Outcome

The primary goal of this role is to increase the selection of hospital services by specialty providers and local EMS companies.

Primary Target Audience

The target audience for this role includes specialty providers who do not have a working relationship with Tenet, as well as those that utilize Tenet for a portion of their services, and local EMS companies.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Plan and conduct in-person visits with key stakeholders at medical and surgical specialist physician offices and EMS providers to increase selection of hospital/market services.
  2. Evaluate and interpret current physician referral patterns and trends for market facilities' service lines to ensure understanding of market dynamics.
  3. Develop and gain support for business development strategies for target market and services in collaboration with operational and medical leaders.
  4. Research portfolio of assigned providers to understand decision-making behind hospital selection and inform provider engagement.
  5. Conduct face-to-face sales meetings with clients to ensure understanding of service line attributes, processes, and outcomes to consumers.
  6. Complete follow-up meetings with physicians, practice managers, etc. to ensure thorough understanding of physicians' desires, needs, and obstacles to growth.
  7. Communicate feedback from clients and partner with market/hospital resources to resolve issues and better serve patients and provider partners.
  8. Prepare and present sales reports identifying trends, lessons learned, opportunities, and areas for improvement to achieve market goals.
  9. Modify and execute business development tactics to ensure optimal business outcomes based on feedback from clients and facility leaders.
  10. Maintain latest knowledge of the health system, hospital, and provider landscape relevant to specialization in defined market service area.
  11. Document all client engagement in a timely manner on a daily basis in the defined CRM tool, including outcomes and required follow-up.
  12. Support implementation of key initiatives requiring relevant network development as directed by Group Vice President and/or CSO.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree and at least 5 years of experience in a field related to health system physician relations, pharmaceuticals, or medical devices. The candidate should possess excellent organizational, interpersonal, facilitation, and communication skills, with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision and travel in market.

Compensation for this role is $81,120-$128,960 annually, depending on location, qualifications, and experience. Management level positions may be eligible for sign-on and relocation bonuses.
