Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Aerospace Medical Specialist to join our team at Med-Trans Corporation. This is a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, providing advanced life support care to patients while transporting them via air.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for safely transporting patients via air while providing critical care services. The role involves maintaining thorough documentation and adhering to strict safety standards to ensure the well-being of patients, crew members, and equipment.

Responsibilities:
  • Completion and submission of electronic patient care records within specified time frames.
  • Daily base checks, including narcotic counts, to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Providing pre-hospital and intra-hospital advanced life support care, maintaining comprehensive patient documentation.
  • Maintaining proficiency in knowledge and psychomotor skills through ongoing laboratory and clinical experiences.
  • Documenting required licensure, certifications, continuing education, safety, and advanced procedures in the Employee Education Manual.
  • Knowledgeable in the use and routine maintenance of all equipment and supplies used by emergency programs.
  • Maintaining positive interpersonal relationships with colleagues, EMS representatives, hospitals, and the public.
  • Fulfilling medical flight member responsibilities.
  • Attending pre-mission briefings and mission debriefings, completing necessary documentation.
  • Assisting in pre-mission liftoff checklists and pilot assistance as needed.
  • Ensuring compliance with safety standards to guarantee the safety of self, medical personnel, patients, and equipment prior to liftoff.
Requirements:
  • Three (3) years' experience in an ALS or critical care setting.
  • Current EMT-P license/certification in states served by the assigned area.
  • NREMT-P certification in state(s) where required.
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP required prior to flight status (NRP certification provided during New Hire Training).
