EMPOWER INDIVIDUALS ON THEIR JOURNEY TO RECOVERY

Mental Health Partnerships is seeking a dedicated Recovery Learning Specialist to lead recovery-focused groups aimed at equipping participants with essential skills for their personal recovery journeys. This role encompasses facilitating workshops on topics such as Wellness Recovery Action Plans (WRAP), mental health directives, financial management, and peer support initiatives. The Recovery Learning Specialist will also enhance awareness of community resources and foster a sense of wellness and self-esteem among participants.

This is a full-time position with a structured work schedule from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. As part of our organization, you will enjoy a comprehensive benefits package that includes:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and implement group curricula and lesson plans that facilitate adult learning and discussions on recovery skill development, current events, and holistic health support.
  • Encourage collaboration among participants to foster mutual support and success.
  • Assist participants in identifying and utilizing community resources to enhance their recovery journey.
  • Support the creation of individualized recovery plans and coordinate necessary resources to promote self-sufficiency.
  • Conduct intake assessments as needed and accurately document participant progress in our electronic health records system.
  • Perform additional duties as required to advance the mission of Mental Health Partnerships.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, including internships and volunteer work.
  • Certification as a Peer Specialist is advantageous; for Delaware programs, certification as a Peer Recovery Specialist is mandatory within six months of hire.
  • Valid driver's license is required.
  • Proficient in basic computer skills necessary for job functions, including email, electronic health records, and internet research.
  • Ability to work independently and complete tasks as directed.
  • Strong communication skills, cultural competence, and teamwork abilities are essential.
  • Must be able to manage stress and meet deadlines while providing excellent customer service.
  • Certification or ability to obtain certification in First Aid/CPR is required.
  • If applicable, ability to secure a Food Safety Certificate within six months of hire.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to sit at a desk with appropriate ergonomic equipment.
  • Lift up to 15 lbs.
  • Maintain punctual attendance and flexibility in work hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Ability to drive a multi-passenger vehicle and assist passengers as necessary.
  • Remain alert during shifts, including breaks.
  • Walk around various locations and in the community, which may not be fully accessible.
  • Engage in frequent communication, including talking and listening, with potential exposure to challenging environments.
  • Perform essential job functions while meeting productivity standards safely and effectively.
