POSITION: Interim Elementary Kitchen Supervisor - 10 month

DEPARTMENT: Nutrition Services

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Oversee and coordinate kitchen operations as required across various locations within the Westside Community Schools. This role will report directly to the Nutrition Services Operations Manager and the Director of Nutrition Services. Key qualifications and responsibilities include:
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Strong time management capabilities
  • Supervise and guide other team members
  • Collaborate effectively with school personnel, students, and the community
  • Complete all necessary daily and weekly documentation
  • Proficient in using and instructing others on kitchen equipment essential for food preparation
  • Uphold the district's standards for food quality, safety, and professionalism
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to follow directions from supervisory staff
  • Knowledge of kitchen sanitation and food preparation processes, including paperwork for meal counts
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities
  • ServSafe certification
  • Experience in kitchen management
  • Understanding of Federal School Breakfast and Lunch Program requirements and regulations, including Offer vs. Serve
  • Knowledge of criteria for reimbursable meals
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: (ADA Compliance Regulations)
  • Capability to lift containers weighing up to 40 lbs.
  • Able to stand for extended periods while performing job duties
