Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our Maintenance team as a Maintenance Operations Assistant Manager. Key Responsibilities

The Maintenance Operations Assistant Manager collaborates closely with the Maintenance Manager to supervise the Maintenance Department. This role involves working alongside Maintenance Technicians and other personnel to ensure that all production equipment is operational and meets both quantity and quality objectives. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting the Maintenance Manager in developing and executing a program that guarantees all central systems, production machinery, inspection tools, washing/coating apparatus, and warehouse equipment are functioning effectively.
  • Coordinating with the Building and Safety Manager to troubleshoot any building systems or equipment issues as necessary.
  • Scheduling machinery maintenance (preventative or repair) in collaboration with the Production Manager and Production Planning Manager or Supervisor.
  • Performing hands-on maintenance tasks, including soldering and welding, when required.
  • Ensuring that all equipment is maintained according to manufacturer specifications for optimal functionality.
  • Working with the Maintenance Manager to create and implement preventative maintenance schedules for all machinery.
  • Maintaining accurate maintenance and repair records as per the company's quality management system.
  • Monitoring and ordering maintenance supplies to maintain adequate stock levels.
  • Keeping all work areas safe, clean, and organized.
  • Adhering to all safety regulations and protocols, including the use of appropriate personal protective equipment.
  • Performing additional tasks as assigned by the Maintenance Manager or Executive Management.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with a minimum of 5 years of experience in Machine Maintenance; alternatively, a High School diploma with certifications and over 10 years of relevant experience may be considered.
  • Proficient mechanical and electrical maintenance skills.
  • Forklift operation capability; training and certification will be provided.
  • Hands-on work experience is essential.
  • Strong understanding of precision measuring instruments, gauges, and a variety of hand and power tools.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical issues effectively.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with a diverse team.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to supervise and manage others.

Physical Requirements

This role requires the ability to perform essential job functions in compliance with ADA, FMLA, and other applicable standards, including meeting productivity benchmarks. Regular and punctual attendance is essential.

Additional physical requirements include:

  • Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 75 lbs (occasionally).
  • Capability to climb ladders.
  • Dexterity in hands and fingers for handling small components and electrical wiring.
  • Ability to walk, stand, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and grasp as necessary for job duties.
  • Visual acuity, with or without corrective lenses, to read fine print.

The Maintenance Operations Assistant Manager may work in various settings, including:
