Position Overview:
The Client Manager Associate (CMA) is in a developmental role aimed at mastering proactive client engagement, education, growth, and retention strategies.
This position is pivotal in designing and implementing comprehensive enrollment, service, and growth initiatives tailored for each client within their designated portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
- Gain a thorough understanding of Pre and Post-Sale Client Management, Education, Growth, and Retention strategies for the core market.
- Establish and nurture relationships with brokers, enrollment firms, and clients within the assigned business segment.
- Learn to create and execute customized business plans for clients.
- Drive profitable growth within the existing client base.
- Collaborate with sales teams to enhance pre-renewal communications, aiming to boost reenrollment rates and minimize distractions during critical renewal periods.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of Unum's enrollment capabilities and effectively communicate enrollment strategies to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Work closely with the Implementation Manager to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Participate in local benefit fairs alongside the Field Office team.
- Build and strengthen relationships with enrollment firms for larger client accounts.
- Partner with Sales Representatives and Marketing Consultants to execute strategic initiatives effectively.
- Collaborate with key Home Office departments to provide comprehensive service to clients.
- In partnership with sales representatives, deliver detailed updates on client status, broker insights, and other critical action items impacting sales performance.
- Learn to develop and present renewal proposals that enhance client retention and profitability.
- May undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience is required.
- Experience in the employee benefits sector is preferred.
- Must obtain a license to sell insurance in the relevant states within 90 days of hire or promotion.
- Demonstrated growth and sales orientation.
- Familiarity with Unum's product and service offerings is advantageous.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Strong technical skills with the ability to leverage technology and systems effectively.
- Excellent negotiation, persuasion, and presentation abilities.
- Proven strategic thinking coupled with tactical execution skills.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the capacity to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong problem-solving and resolution capabilities.
- Exudes confidence and enthusiasm about the company with every client interaction.
