Job Summary:

Kaiser Permanente is seeking a skilled Mental Health Therapist to join our team. As a key member of our behavioral health department, you will provide high-quality mental health assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and crisis intervention services to adult and child members. You will work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to develop and implement effective treatment plans, ensuring the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and Implement Treatment Plans: Develop, implement, and evaluate clinical treatment programs for members with acute or chronic mental illness. Participate in staff conferences to select, plan, and evaluate treatment programs.
  • Provide Psychotherapy Services: Provide outpatient psychotherapy to individuals, couples, families, and groups, utilizing evidence-based practices and techniques.
  • Assess and Diagnose Mental Health Conditions: Assess and diagnose members' mental health conditions, utilizing the DSM-V as a guide, and develop effective treatment plans to address their needs.
  • Collaborate with Healthcare Team: Collaborate with physicians, psychiatrists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care and coordination of services.
  • Document Patient Progress: Maintain accurate and confidential records of patient progress, treatment plans, and outcomes, in accordance with state and NCQA regulations.
  • Participate in On-Call Rotation: May be required to participate in the department's on-call rotation, providing after-hours support and crisis intervention services as needed.
Requirements:
  • Education: Master's degree in Social Work, Social Welfare, Clinical or Counseling Psychology, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
  • License: Licensed Clinical Social Worker (California), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (California), or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (California) with the required endorsements.
  • Experience: Previous experience in assessing, diagnosing, and treating a broad range of psychiatric conditions, preferably in an outpatient or inpatient setting.
  • Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, knowledge of social service agencies, state regulations, and professional board standards, and ability to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous Post-Licensure Experience: Previous experience as a member of a psychiatric treatment team in an outpatient or inpatient setting, preferably under licensed supervision.
  • Clinical Responsibility: Previous clinical responsibility, including crisis intervention, individual and group psychotherapy, and experience working with diverse populations.
  • Professional Maturity: Demonstrated professional maturity and ethical integrity, commitment to quality of service, teamwork, and participation in a highly interactive multidisciplinary clinic.
