Avionics Systems Engineer

At SpaceX, we are pushing the boundaries of space exploration and development. As an Avionics Systems Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and reliable operation of our spacecraft systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and test avionics systems for our spacecraft, including computing, power, instrumentation, and radio frequency (RF) communications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate avionics systems with other spacecraft systems.
  • Perform real-time troubleshooting and root cause analysis to resolve issues during flight operations.
  • Develop and execute avionics system testing plans to validate system performance and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Support build and capsule maintenance activities, including troubleshooting and resolving issues related to avionics systems.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline or physics.
  • 1+ years of experience in electrical component design, system level integration of electronic components, or system level testing.
  • Proficiency in software development languages such as Python, C++, and/or Matlab.
  • Hands-on experience with electrical test equipment, including multimeters, oscilloscopes, and network analyzers.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, autonomous environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with wire harness design and build, including associated sub-components.
  • Experience with NX or similar CAD software.
  • Experience with PCBA design and Altium or similar software.
  • Experience with RF system design or testing.
  • Competence with electrical test equipment, including multimeters, oscilloscopes, and network analyzers.
