The Process Technician is responsible for operating and troubleshooting all UHT process machinery, automation systems, and production lines while adhering to Puratos' Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), and Safe Quality Food (SQF) standards. This role ensures that high-quality standards are consistently met, aligning with both Puratos and customer expectations.

Available Shifts:

  • 1st: 6:30am - 3:00pm
  • 2nd: 2:30pm - 11:00 pm
  • 3rd: 10:30pm – 7:00am

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate automated industrial machinery, including handling changeovers and performing basic maintenance.
  • Promptly report any safety, food safety, or quality concerns to the supervisor or management.
  • Ensure the overall safety, quality, and efficiency of the work area.
  • Adhere to all company-specific SOPs, GMPs, and SQF regulations.
  • Perform additional tasks as directed by management.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in operating and understanding control systems.
  • Act as the lead operator for all UHT process control systems.
  • Master all aspects of UHT operations, including scaling, manual dumping, supersack dosing, and packaging equipment operation.
  • Operate and troubleshoot Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and Simatic batch; UHT Clean-in-Place (CIP) and Sterilize-in-Place (SIP) systems.
  • Collaborate with the Engineering team to implement continuous improvement initiatives or troubleshooting measures.
  • Provide support and resolve quality issues, equipment breakdowns, and safety incidents, leading Root Cause Analysis investigations.
  • Initiate machinery and make necessary adjustments to enhance performance.
  • Conduct basic maintenance on equipment.
  • Execute cleaning tasks as per the UHT Master Cleaning Schedule.
  • Train new UHT process technicians or operators and support other production staff.
  • Communicate with maintenance regarding necessary improvements and submit work requests.
  • Edit automation recipes according to the Master Control Process.
  • Oversee staffing adjustments to maximize production efficiency.
  • Input data into the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) system, reviewing and analyzing major downtime incidents to propose solutions.
  • Qualify to operate forklifts as required; work at various local production sites as necessary.
  • Comply with Puratos' dress code and personal protective equipment policies.

Required Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience as a skilled operator or controls technician.
  • High School diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Availability to work overtime and weekends as needed.
  • Ability to regularly lift 55lbs (25kg).
  • Comfortable and capable of operating powered industrial trucks.
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations in various units of measurement.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Ability to read and execute instructions accurately.
  • Experience with PCS7 or other automation systems preferred.
  • Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) experience preferred.
  • Experience in UHT/Aseptic environments strongly preferred.
  • Experience in pharmaceuticals or food processing strongly preferred.
  • Ability to work independently in this role.
