Job Description

We are seeking a talented Procurement Engineer for Starlink to join our team at Space Exploration Technologies Corp. in the role of Mechanical Systems Supply Chain Expert.

About the Role:

  • Improve quality, cost, delivery, and capacity metrics for mechanical hardware used in Starlink systems.
  • Collaborate with design, materials, and manufacturing engineers to gain an in-depth knowledge of piece part, assembly, metrology, and/or sub-system design intent.
  • Support procurement by reviewing and assessing supplier manufacturing processes and quality systems.
  • Define supplier technical and quality requirements based on customer and program requirements and expectations.
  • Lead resolution of supplier quality issues through root cause analysis.
  • Analyze supplier quality and delivery metrics to identify trends and pinpoint systemic performance gaps.
  • Effectively manage mission-critical supply chain by establishing excellent working relationships with suppliers.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering.
  • 1+ years of experience in manufacturing and/or process engineering.
  • Internship experience in engineering.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Master's degree in engineering, business, or supply chain.
  • Knowledge of statistical techniques, lean, production, and supply chain concepts.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.

Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $180,000 per year

This is a high-profile, cross-functional position that plays a key role in enabling development and production flow of satellites and gateways. You will work with internal engineering and manufacturing departments, as well as directly with suppliers, to execute effective supply chain strategies.
