Job Title: Business Litigation Attorney

Job Summary:

Messerli Kramer P.A. is seeking an experienced Business Litigation Attorney to join our team. As a key member of our Business Litigation Department, you will be responsible for representing clients in court cases and other legal proceedings, conducting legal research and writing, and handling all legal disputes that occur in a business context.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent clients in court cases and other legal proceedings, including arbitrations, mediations, and other law proceedings
  • Travel to represent clients and present cases in front of judges and juries
  • Conduct legal research and writing, and handle all legal disputes that occur in a business context
  • Prepare information for court, interview witnesses, and review documents and closing deals outside of courtrooms
  • Prepare, attend, and advocate at motion hearings and trials
  • Strive for high-volume billing and attend client and community events for business development opportunities
  • Support designated clients in a timely and professional manner

Requirements:

  • 4-year college degree
  • Licensed in MN (North Dakota helpful)
  • 7+ years of prior litigation experience
  • Prior experience with motion practice, discovery disputes, and trial preparation
  • Prior experience settling challenging disputes with contract negotiations or interpretations
  • Strong negotiation and persuasive skills with confidence in the courtroom
