Position Overview:

The Environmental Service Aide plays a crucial role in upholding a clean and safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff, adhering to established regulatory and accreditation standards, as well as hospital policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain cleanliness of Environmental Services carts, ensuring they are stocked with essential cleaning supplies daily.
  • Conduct regular inspections of assigned areas to identify cleaning needs, including occupied and unoccupied rooms.
  • Efficiently collect, pack, and transport trash and regulated medical waste in a safe manner.
  • Assist in the removal and transportation of soiled linen, while ensuring clean linen is handled appropriately.
  • Thoroughly clean patient rooms, treatment areas, utility spaces, isolation rooms, bathrooms, and nursing stations on a daily basis.
  • Document all completed cleaning tasks on discharge sheets provided at nursing stations.
  • Perform terminal cleaning of rooms and maintain cleanliness in specialty units and public areas as assigned.
  • Ensure all vertical surfaces, drapes, cubicles, blinds, vents, and glass are kept clean and in good repair.
  • Vacuum carpets daily, keeping edges and baseboards dust-free, and shampoo carpets as needed.
  • Buff, strip, and refinish floors as required.
Qualifications:

Experience in a similar role is preferred, but on-the-job training will be provided.

Work Schedule:

This is a part-time position with variable shifts and scheduled work hours.

Compensation:

The salary range for this position is $15.75 to $18.18 per hour, determined by factors such as experience, qualifications, and internal equity.

Union Status:

This position is part of a union.
