Job Title: Engineering Technician

Join the City of New Orleans, LA team as an Engineering Technician and contribute to the development and implementation of engineering projects. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing technical support and assistance to engineers and other staff members.

Job Summary:

The Engineering Technician will perform a variety of tasks related to engineering projects, including drafting, mapping, surveying, inspecting, and cost estimating. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of engineering principles and practices, as well as excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist engineers and other staff members with technical tasks and projects
  • Perform drafting and mapping tasks, including creating and editing drawings and maps
  • Conduct surveys and inspections to gather data and information
  • Estimate costs and prepare reports for engineering projects
  • Provide technical support and assistance to engineers and other staff members
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, or a related field
  • 2 years of experience in sub-professional engineering/architectural/construction
  • Valid driver's license
  • High School Diploma or GED issued by a US State Department of Education
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with drafting and mapping software
  • Knowledge of engineering principles and practices
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
