Position Overview:
We are looking for a proactive and skilled Permanent Tax Manager to enhance our finance team. This role is vital for overseeing our tax functions and ensuring adherence to tax regulations. The ideal candidate will manage tax planning and compliance, aiming to optimize our financial outcomes. This role presents a significant opportunity to refine your leadership capabilities and influence our financial strategy positively.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Supervise the preparation and review of federal, state, and local tax returns, including corporate, partnership, and individual filings.
2. Perform in-depth tax planning and research to enhance tax positions and ensure compliance.
3. Formulate and execute strategic tax planning for all applicable federal and state taxes.
4. Collaborate with accounting teams to guarantee precise and timely financial reporting and tax compliance.
5. Manage audits conducted by tax authorities and provide assistance during tax-related litigation.
6. Ensure that the company's tax policies align with current laws and regulations.
7. Advise management on the implications of new legislation on tax liabilities and potential tax planning opportunities.
8. Lead and mentor a team of tax professionals, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and learning.
Qualifications:
1. Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Enrolled Agent (EA) designation is mandatory.
2. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
3. At least 5 years of experience in a tax management or public accounting role.
4. In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
5. Strong background in various tax operations with a focus on process enhancements.
6. Proven ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize effectively, and meet tight deadlines.
7. Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
8. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
9. Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
10. Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite.
