Job Summary

BAE Systems USA is seeking a highly skilled Principal Power/Analog Design Engineer to join our team in Endicott, NY or Austin, TX. As a key member of our Controls and Avionics Solutions (CAS) business, you will be responsible for designing and developing state-of-the-art electronics for advanced aircraft applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and produce advanced electronics for aircraft applications, including jet engine control computers, flight control systems, and aircraft electric propulsion systems.
  • Conduct research, design, development, and testing of information processing hardware, such as computer chips, circuit boards, computer systems, and electrical components.
  • Mentor junior engineers and serve as a subject matter expert.
  • Design new or modify existing products, develop technical specifications for production, analyze hardware configuration and processing solutions, and test hardware conformance to specifications.

Business Areas

As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work on two business areas: Controls & Avionics Solutions (CAS) and Power & Propulsion Solutions (PPS). In CAS, you will help define and develop the next generation of avionics, including fly-by-wire flight controls, full authority digital engine controls, and power management & propulsion for future aircraft. In PPS, you will be involved in providing efficient power management on military vehicles and developing eco-friendly, hybrid, and electric systems for the commercial world.

Requirements
  • BSEE with 8 or more years of analog design experience, including board-level design experience.
  • Ability to lead and mentor engineers.
  • Experience in analog electronics design, including experience with design analysis tools such as PSpice and MathCad.
  • Experience performing analog circuit stress and tolerance analysis.
  • PWB design support experience.

Preferred Qualifications
  • MSEE with 10 years of analog design experience.
  • Experience in designing for EMI and lightning protection.
  • Experience with military and/or avionics work.
  • Some experience with RF circuit design.
