Position Overview

McGregor Foundation is dedicated to providing a comprehensive care program designed for the elderly, offering a viable alternative to institutional care. Our mission is to support seniors in maintaining their independence within their own homes and communities.

We are currently expanding our services and are looking for skilled Home Health Aides, Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA), or State Tested Nursing Assistants (STNA).

Compensation: $15.50/hour

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure the daily personal care and safety of participants.
  2. Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), which include personal hygiene, toileting, bathing, mobility assistance, feeding, dressing, and engaging in recreational activities, while promoting independence where suitable.
  3. Perform light housekeeping duties, laundry, and assist in meal preparation.
  4. Proactively anticipate participant needs to facilitate organized and efficient care; prepare all necessary supplies and work areas prior to starting tasks.
  5. Complete all required documentation, including notes, in accordance with organizational standards and timelines, ensuring clarity and completeness.
  6. Report any changes in participant status to supervisors and relevant staff members.
  7. Validate proficiency in essential skills and personal care services on an annual basis, or as required.
  8. Assist with errands, such as grocery shopping or restocking household items.
  9. Implement infection control principles, including proper hand hygiene and care procedures for infectious patients.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. is required, along with certification as a Home Health Aide, CNA, or STNA.
  • Experience working with elderly individuals or those with special needs is essential; familiarity with dementia care is a plus.
  • Possess patience and flexibility in communication with family members, demonstrating compassion and understanding towards the needs of frail elderly individuals.
  • A valid Ohio driver's license or State of Ohio identification, along with reliable transportation, is necessary.
  • Capability to lift or move weights ranging from 50 to 75 lbs.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is advantageous.
