AEG is looking for a skilled individual to fill the role of Broadcast Systems Architect.

This position is crucial for the management and deployment of advanced media and data systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • The Architect will primarily focus on solutions that enhance optical analysis tools, transcoding, archiving, and distribution capabilities within the organization’s Media and Event Technology frameworks.
  • Implement robust video storage and archiving solutions, along with the relevant data access and management systems.
  • Oversee the deployment and management of Kubernetes-based Optical Tracking and data platforms for live events.
  • Introduce next-generation solutions that facilitate production workflow integration and file-based media exchanges with both onsite and remote facilities.
  • Configure and calibrate video cameras within their respective media system platforms.
  • Manage IP video stream capture and clipping infrastructure along with associated tools.
  • Administer cloud-native media orchestration solutions and tools.
  • Ensure interoperability with third-party vendor systems and products.
  • Test and implement system software and firmware updates.
  • Track and report issues and feature requests with vendors.
  • Provide second-level operational and technical support and training as needed to Operations, Engineering, and support staff.
  • Assist in the development and execution of proof-of-concept initiatives for new media technologies.
  • Travel may be required up to 25%.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and a minimum of seven (7) years of relevant experience in film and post-production, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to perform calculations involving discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Proficient in basic algebra and geometry concepts.
  • Capable of solving practical problems and addressing various concrete variables in situations with limited standardization.
  • Adept at interpreting a variety of instructions provided in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Proficient in the use of company-provided hardware and software.
  • Strong understanding of video and audio encoding/transcoding techniques and formats.
  • Familiarity with video storage technologies (e.g., NAS, SAN, Object) and archiving solutions, including data access protocols and application software.
  • Knowledge of media management and workflow orchestration tools and techniques.
  • General understanding of high-performance IT hardware technologies used in media systems.
  • Proficiency in various scripting languages (e.g., Perl, Java, Python, JavaScript).
  • Experience with source code management tools such as GitHub or Bitbucket for system configuration management.
  • Familiarity with monitoring technologies like Grafana, Telegraf, and Datadog.
  • Proficient in serverless technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft, Apple, and Linux operating systems.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Nutanix.
  • Experience implementing software solutions on IT/commodity hardware across various platforms (e.g., Linux, Windows, Serverless).
  • Understanding of IT and networking principles (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, HTTP, SNMP).
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes clustering infrastructures and related technologies.
  • General knowledge of DevOps methodologies and practices.
  • A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required for supporting remote offices and transporting equipment as necessary.
