Job Title: Senior Medical Technologist

Howard University Hospital is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Medical Technologist to join our Core lab team on Days. As a Senior Medical Technologist, you will be responsible for providing direct nursing care to patients and collaborating with intra and interdisciplinary staff to accomplish patient care goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform patient and QC material tests and report results in accordance with departmental policy
  • Ensure error rate is consistent with established departmental standards
  • Report and document critical and corrected values per medical laboratory policy
  • Prioritize and manage workload to meet or exceed established Turn-Around-Times (TATs)
  • Maintain competencies and new skills as technologies change
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology or related field, with a registry by the American Society of Pathologist (ASCP) (MT), (H/C), or an equivalent registry
  • Four or more years of progressive work experience in an accredited laboratory
