Safety Director Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safety Director to join our team at Dycom Industries Inc. As a Safety Director, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing the company's safety programs to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, implement, and continually improve comprehensive safety programs
  • Develop and maintain safety policies and procedures in accordance with industry standards and regulations
  • Stay informed about local, state, and federal safety regulations applicable to the telecom and construction industry
  • Ensure the company's compliance with all relevant safety standards and legislation
  • Promote a culture of safety awareness and accountability throughout the organization
  • Lead investigations into accidents, incidents, and near misses
  • Implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences
  • Maintain accurate records of safety-related activities, incidents, and training
  • Prepare and submit reports to management and regulatory agencies as required
Requirements:
  • To be 18 years of age or older
  • Authorization to work in the United States for this company
  • Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in safety management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
  • Ability to travel 25% or when needed
  • Proven experience in the telecom construction industry, with a strong understanding of construction safety requirements
  • Ability to form, lead, motivate, mentor, manage and direct a strong and effective team, with the ability to influence and drive a culture of safety and sustainability
  • Ability to communicate across all levels of the organization, including executive management, as well as the ability to engage field employees
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with significant experience with safety software, data analytic tools, paired with focus on IT innovations
  • Professional certifications in safety are advantageous
