Architect Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Architect to join our team at Hollis + Miller Architects. As a key member of our integrated architectural practice, you will be responsible for assisting project teams in delivering high-quality designs and projects.
Key Responsibilities- Understand and work within the project scope, budget, schedule, and your specific role to align with the project plan and goals.
- Utilize the co-creation process internally and externally as part of the architectural workflow.
- Explore design concepts and ideas through hand sketches and design software.
- Develop the BIM model of new or existing buildings.
- Assess existing facilities.
- Execute the design through all facets of construction documentation, producing a coordinated drawing set for bidding, and permitting.
- Support the creation of owner presentations and visual storytelling.
- Participate in owner meetings and internal team discussions.
- Communicate project concerns and opportunities regarding assigned tasks with Project Lead.
- Collaborate with the project team and resources in design exploration and documentation.
- Create and manage the project plan to ensure appropriate staffing and resources support project success.
- Team with the Client Leader to revise and adapt the Project Plan as required.
- Connect and collaborate with Project Resources to support project quality.
- Lead phases of the co-creation process with the client and team.
- Communicate staff tasks, project expectations, and support needs to the team and Studio Directors.
- Coordinate the project design with consultants, business partners, and internal project team.
- Lead Construction administration services, including site observations and submittals reviews.
- Submit jurisdictional authority documentation as required.
- Communicate with the client regarding data gathering needs and schedule adjustments to support project completion and success.
- Fulfill unique tasks or client requests as agreed to with the Client Lead.
- Mentor less experienced team members as needed.
- Maintain reliable transportation.
- Adhere to safety regulations as prescribed by contractor protocol as applicable.
- Sit or stand for long periods of time.
- Exchange information in person, online, and on the phone.
- Frequently use a computer, mouse, and keyboard.
- Read, prepare, and proofread documents.
