Job DescriptionJob Summary:

The Wayne County Government is seeking a highly skilled Equipment Repair Specialist 1 to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of mechanical repairs and maintenance on automobiles, heavy equipment, and other related machinery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical issues with heavy equipment and automobiles
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes and lubrications
  • Repair and replace parts, including engines, transmissions, and electrical systems
  • Test and adjust repaired systems to ensure proper function
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient and effective maintenance operations

Requirements:

  • Certification in five (5) Automobile or Heavy Truck Mechanic licensing areas
  • A valid driver's license
  • Master Mechanic certification within five (5) months of appointment

Working Conditions:

This is a full-time position that requires working in a fast-paced environment with frequent deadlines. The successful candidate will be required to work in a variety of settings, including outdoors and in confined spaces.
