I. Overview:
Oversees Team Leaders and team members within the designated manufacturing sector (such as assembly, welding, and production) to ensure the fulfillment of the group's duties. Manages the operational unit effectively, striving to meet organizational objectives while adhering to company policies, manufacturing standards, and quality protocols regarding safety, product excellence, customer satisfaction, efficiency, and team morale.

II. Key Responsibilities:

General Duties:
A. Serve as a primary supervisor for team leaders and team members.

  1. Coordinate the recruitment and placement of team members alongside the Assistant Manager, while monitoring staffing levels, work hours, and absenteeism.
  2. Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures, taking corrective actions as necessary.
  3. Manage and evaluate team member performance, recommending necessary actions.
  4. Foster positive relationships among team members based on trust, respect, and open communication.
  5. Guide and motivate team members with a focus on safety, quality, and productivity.
B. Lead the manufacturing and production processes:
  1. Apply Toyota Production System (TPS) methodologies to standardize processes, minimize waste, and enhance efficiency.
  2. Create standardized work procedures to optimize workflow.
  3. Direct team leaders and members in task assignments based on production needs.
  4. Implement Toyota Boshoku Business Practices (TBBP) to maintain effective manufacturing operations.
  5. Perform essential tasks of team leaders or members as needed to ensure smooth operations.
  6. Conduct analyses to identify performance gaps and develop strategies for improvement.
  7. Guide team leaders and members during program launches, ensuring proper training and equipment usage.
C. Ensure quality and efficiency:
  1. Monitor the flow of materials and productivity, taking corrective actions as required.
  2. Ensure quality standards are met and that team members utilize quality systems effectively.
  3. Collaborate with the Quality department to address quality issues.
  4. Identify and resolve daily production and safety challenges.
  5. Proactively address potential issues and implement innovative solutions.
  6. Evaluate machinery and equipment performance, coordinating repairs as necessary.
  7. Educate team members on the importance of maintaining high-quality standards.
D. Drive continuous improvement:
  1. Participate in setting Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to foster ongoing improvement.
  2. Maintain and update departmental KPI boards and initiate improvement activities.
  3. Lead projects aimed at enhancing safety, quality, and productivity.
  4. Encourage team members to contribute ideas for improvement.
E. Promote a safe working environment:
  1. Ensure adherence to safety regulations and company policies.
  2. Participate in safety audits and ergonomic assessments.
  3. Monitor team member safety and health.
F. Train and develop team members:
  1. Oversee training for new and existing team members, ensuring effectiveness.
  2. Maintain training records and development plans.
  3. Facilitate ongoing development through performance evaluations and feedback.
G. Document and analyze operational activities:
  1. Prepare reports and maintain records of departmental activities.
  2. Monitor team member attendance and training documentation.
H. Communicate effectively:
  1. Conduct regular meetings to keep team members informed and engaged.
  2. Facilitate communication between shifts and departments.
III. Qualifications:

Education:
• Associate's degree in a relevant field is required; Bachelor's degree is preferred.

Experience:
  • At least three years of manufacturing experience is required.
  • Two years of leadership or supervisory experience is necessary.
  • Experience in the automotive industry is preferred.
Skills:
  • Strong leadership and communication abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
IV. Work Environment:
Office and manufacturing environments with moderate noise levels. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required in certain areas. Minimal travel is expected.

V. Physical Requirements:
Ability to perform tasks requiring visual acuity, mental alertness, and physical stamina, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
