Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to join our team at Duval County Public School. As a Special Education Teacher, you will play a vital role in guiding the learning process towards the achievement of curriculum goals and establishing clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) to meet the unique needs of students with exceptionalities
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a comprehensive and inclusive learning environment
  • Employ a variety of instructional techniques and media to engage students and promote academic achievement
  • Monitor student progress and adjust instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • Florida Department of Education certification in Exceptional Student Education or a related field
  • Experience working with students with exceptionalities and their families

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Special Education or a related field
  • Experience with behavior management techniques and crisis intervention
  • Knowledge of assistive technology and adaptive equipment
