Job Summary

This part-time, non-benefited position is located in the Engineering Construction Manufacturing and Design Division and reports to the Program Director - Carpentry and Residential Construction Management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver high-quality instruction for specified courses, utilizing prepared lesson plans and a variety of learning experiences.
  • Organize and conduct classes, demonstrating a positive attitude toward students and a comprehensive knowledge of the subject areas.
  • Evaluate students' progress, communicating results to students and appropriate personnel, and accurately recording pertinent information in students' records.
  • Prepare and maintain all required documentation and administrative reports, submitting them in a timely manner.
  • Display a high level of effort and commitment to performing work, operating effectively within the organizational structure, and demonstrating trustworthiness and responsible behavior.
  • Assist with recruitment, retention, and job placement efforts, actively participating in the retention efforts of the school.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in the fulfillment of the needs, philosophy, and purpose of Gwinnett Technical College.
Requirements

This position requires a Bachelor's degree in a related discipline or an Associate's degree in the discipline plus at least two years of related work experience. Postsecondary teaching experience is preferred.

Work Environment

This position involves working in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods, with or without reasonable accommodation. The ability to move objects up to 15 pounds in all directions and to operate machinery and/or power tools is also required.
