Mattress Deconstruction Specialist

Goodwill Industries Vocational Enterprises Inc is seeking a dedicated individual for the role of Mattress Deconstruction Specialist. This position is crucial in our mission to promote sustainability and provide job training opportunities.

Position Type: Full-Time, 40 hours per week

Compensation: $15.00 per hour

As a Mattress Deconstruction Specialist, you will be responsible for the careful disassembly of mattresses, box springs, and furniture cushions. This role involves adhering to established guidelines to effectively separate and retain recyclable materials during the disassembly process.

• Disassemble mattresses and box springs by removing covers, cotton, foam, and other fabric materials.
• Sort and contain materials using appropriate carts, categorizing by fabric type.
• Stack mattress springs and box springs into designated containers.
• Achieve production standards, maintaining an average of 3.75 pieces per hour over a two-week period.
• Assist in unloading mattresses from delivery vehicles as needed.
• Maintain accurate records of completed tasks and production tags.
• Ensure a clean and organized work area by performing end-of-day clean-up duties.
• Conduct quality control checks on recycled materials to ensure compliance with standards.
• Participate in departmental meetings and training sessions as required.
• Perform additional job-related tasks as assigned.

This position requires the ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 70 pounds. Candidates should be prepared for frequent bending, walking, and visual tasks.
