About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled CNC Applications Engineer to join our team at Productivity Inc. as a key member of our manufacturing support team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Support: Provide expert technical assistance to our manufacturing customers, including programming, tooling, fixturing, communication, and data exchange.
  • Sales Support: Collaborate with our Machine Tool sales team to provide solution-selling assistance, including time studies, process plans, machine demonstrations, and pre-sales support.
  • CNC Machine Setup: Program and set up CNC lathes, CNC vertical or horizontal mills, and Swiss-style lathes.
  • Engineering Support: Make accurate cost estimates, develop engineering processes, and interpret plans and specifications.
  • Technical Materials: Prepare technical materials, including time studies, tool lists, tooling and workholding layouts, process plans, layout sketches, presentation materials, and proposals.
  • Training and Development: Conduct on-site training for operators and basic/advanced programming of CNC machining centers, lathes, grinders, Swiss-style lathes, and multi-tasking machines.
  • Trade Shows: Prepare for and participate in trade and promotional shows, including writing programs, ordering tooling and materials, setting up jobs, demonstrating, and answering questions.
  • Technical Knowledge: Maintain an in-depth technical knowledge of product lines represented by the company.
Requirements
  • CNC Experience: Minimum of five years of experience in CNC programming, setup, and operation of CNC machines.
  • Multi-Axis Machining: Experience in multi-axis machining, including Swiss-style machining, multi-tasking lathes, and 5-axis milling.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with customers, operators, machinists, technical support, and management.
  • Programming Skills: Ability to read and write G and M code programs manually.
  • CAD/CAM Knowledge: Knowledge of CAD/CAM programming.
  • PLC Ladder Logic: Knowledge of PLC ladder logic programming a plus.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent problem-solving skills and troubleshooting skills for complex problems.
  • Tooling Knowledge: Knowledge in tooling for selecting and applying the appropriate tool engagements along with proper speeds and feeds from a print to part.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented work environment, with the ability to collaborate and assist team members.
  • Driver's License: Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
