Position Overview

CommonSpirit Health, a merger of Catholic Health Initiatives and Dignity Health, operates over 700 care facilities across the United States, encompassing clinics, hospitals, home-based care, and virtual services. Key Responsibilities

As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will:

1. **Assist in the execution of physical therapy procedures** as directed by a licensed physical therapist, focusing on enhancing patient mobility, alleviating discomfort, and minimizing the risk of long-term disabilities due to injuries or illnesses.

2. **Administer therapeutic exercises and modalities** in accordance with established care plans, ensuring that patients receive the appropriate interventions.

3. **Guide and motivate patients** in improving their functional abilities, including pre-ambulation, transfers, ambulation, and daily living tasks.

4. **Monitor patient progress** during treatments, compiling data on their responses and reporting findings to the supervising physical therapist and relevant medical personnel.

5. **Fit and instruct patients** on the use of orthopedic devices, such as braces, prosthetics, crutches, canes, walkers, and wheelchairs.

6. **Perform administrative tasks** as required to support departmental operations.

7. **Promote a positive customer service experience** while engaging with patients, families, and healthcare staff.

8. **Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams** to ensure that patient needs are met promptly and effectively.

9. **Encourage patient and family involvement** in setting goals and participating in educational activities.

10. **Provide constructive feedback** to enhance departmental efficiency and complete necessary documentation in line with policy requirements.

Qualifications

- Associate's Degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- Current licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant in Texas.
- CPR/BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
- New graduates eligible for licensure are welcome to apply.

Compensation

Pay Rate: $35.89/hour
