About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Deconversion Consultant to join our team at Empower. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in the successful deconversion or termination of Defined Benefit and/or Non-Qualified plans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the deconversion or termination process for assigned plans, ensuring timely completion and adherence to established procedures.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for Plan Sponsors, Financial Advisors, and Third-Party Administrators, providing expert guidance and support throughout the process.
  • Coordinate the review of test files with plan sponsors and successor recordkeepers, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Facilitate the transfer of plan assets and records through written and verbal communication with successor recordkeepers, client contacts, and internal departments.
  • Develop and implement quality assurance measures to ensure the production of high-quality work on assigned deconversions or terminations.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to minimize market risks and gain/loss situations.
  • Provide training and coaching to new hires, offering progress feedback to managers.
  • Support peak season volume by taking on additional plan assignments and reassignments as needed.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or equivalent related experience.
  • At least 3 years of deconversion/termination or related work experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of defined benefit and non-qualified plans.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of IRS/DOL reporting requirements.
  • Demonstrated regulatory compliance and plan document knowledge.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail required.
