Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Group Exercise Instructor to join our team at the YMCA of Metro Atlanta. As a Group Exercise Instructor, you will be responsible for leading group fitness classes, promoting a healthy and active lifestyle, and providing exceptional customer service to our members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead group fitness classes, including land and water-based exercises, to promote physical activity and well-being
  • Develop and implement engaging and effective fitness programs for diverse age groups and fitness levels
  • Provide exceptional customer service to members, responding to their needs and concerns in a professional and courteous manner
  • Collaborate with other wellness department staff to promote a healthy and active lifestyle within the community
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest fitness trends and best practices, incorporating new ideas and techniques into your classes
  • Ensure a safe and inclusive environment for all participants, adhering to YMCA safety guidelines and protocols
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in exercise science, fitness, or related field preferred
  • At least 18 years of age; must be able to pass a background check and drug screening
  • Experience in teaching group exercise classes or participating in group fitness activities; certification in CPR/AED and first aid required
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team; strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends
