Customer Service Representative

Atkore is seeking a highly skilled Customer Service Representative to join our team. As a key member of our customer-facing team, you will be responsible for handling customer inquiries, resolving issues, and providing exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Process customer orders, quotes, credits, and returns applications in a timely and efficient manner.
- Communicate effectively with customers and sales representatives via phone, email, or in-person.
- Obtain and evaluate relevant information to handle customer inquiries and complaints promptly.
- Answer basic technical questions and direct advanced technical requests to the appropriate resource.
- Manage customer accounts and maintain accurate records of customer interactions and transactions.
- Collaborate with internal departments and outside vendors to ensure seamless customer service.
- Monitor product stocking levels and inventory turns to optimize customer satisfaction.
- Review product requirements and compile efficient manufacturing schedules to optimize cost, customer service, and machine utilization.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Five to seven years of business-to-business experience in a manufacturing or electrical customer service environment preferred.
- Experience in stock handling and inventory control preferred.
- Technical background preferred.
- Proficiency in Windows, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong time management, planning, and organizational skills.
- Effective decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong initiative and adaptability to change.
- Ability to thrive in a team environment.
- Detail-oriented and safe work practices.
What You'll Achieve
- Complete Atkore's onboarding and immersion program within 3 months.
- Gain an understanding of how your role contributes to Atkore's mission and strategic plan.
- Perform basic order inquiry, entry, and order follow-up activities.
What You'll Do Next
- Handle an assigned territory independently from PO receipt to invoicing within 6 months.
- Work towards meeting or exceeding departmental daily KPI metrics.
- Audit shipments for on-time delivery and reconcile inventory and pricing discrepancies.
What You'll Achieve Long-Term
- Develop and/or audit necessary standard work for new and existing tasks within 12 months.
- Evaluate and propose necessary changes to reporting metrics and methods.
- Participate in in-person customer plant visits.
