ResponsibilitiesThe Pharmacist is responsible for providing pharmaceutical services in a hospital setting, catering to a diverse patient population with complex medical needs. Key responsibilities include:
- Medication Verification: Ensuring accuracy and appropriateness of medication orders, reviewing medication profiles, and resolving drug therapy problems.
- Participation in Rounds: Collaborating with healthcare professionals during medical and multidisciplinary rounds to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Medication Information: Identifying and addressing medication information needs of patients, families, and healthcare professionals, and effectively communicating and applying this information to patient care situations.
- Inventory Management: Maintaining proper inventory control, storage, and security of controlled substances and inventory records.
- Professional Development: Enhancing professional growth through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-services, and workshops.
- Training and Education: Participating in training programs for pharmacists, technicians, students, and residents, and contributing to education programs for pharmacy staff.
- Consultation and Advice: Providing consultation and advice to healthcare providers on optimal and cost-effective utilization of drugs, and documenting clinical activities as necessary.
- Compliance and Regulatory: Adhering to the Department Compliance Plan for Controlled Substances and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and requirements.
Compensation: $66.00 per hour
Minimum QualificationsTo be successful in this role, you will need:
- Professional Image: Projecting a professional image and maintaining a high level of professionalism in all interactions.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Demonstrating knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements, and applying this knowledge in job situations.
- Organizational and Analytical Skills: Exhibiting strong organizational and analytical skills, and the ability to apply professional standards of practice in job situations.
- Technical Skills: Working knowledge of personal computers and software applications used in job functions, including Word processing, graphics, databases, spreadsheets, etc.
Certification: ACPE IV certification
