Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Metallurgical Engineer - Casting Expert to join our team at KnowHireMatch. As a key member of our casting team, you will be responsible for defining metallurgical requirements for projects, troubleshooting problems with castings, and providing technical support to both external and internal customers.

This is a hands-on casting engineer position that requires a strong background in metallurgy and experience working with casting processes. You will be working with a dynamic leadership team that values and appreciates the people who work there. Key Responsibilities

  • Define metallurgical requirements for projects to be cast
  • Troubleshoot problems with castings
  • Provide technical support to both external and internal customers
  • Lead or assist with continuous process improvements

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • BS in Metallurgical or Materials Engineering
  • 5+ years of prior hands-on experience working with casting metallurgy
  • Ability to work with all levels of staff
  • U.S. Citizenship (due to defense work)
  • Experience with induction furnace melting, arc melting, AOD refining (desirable)
  • Knowledge of alloys, particularly copper (desirable)
  • Experience with Six-Sigma / Lean Manufacturing practices (desirable)
