Insight Global is seeking a Senior Automation Systems Engineer to join a prominent Automotive Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM). This role is primarily a first shift position with an expected travel commitment of 25%.
Your responsibilities will include participating in layout discussions, ensuring project efficiency, meeting deadlines, and providing troubleshooting support on the production line as necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implementation and execution of new programs (including SOR preparation, forecasting, controls and robotics design, equipment assembly, testing, and approval).
- Design, construction, integration, and installation of equipment and tools essential for the production of high-quality components.
- Manage project timelines and ensure deliveries align with program milestones.
- Prepare and present project updates to senior management.
- Support existing programs and sites through troubleshooting and other assistance.
- Foster effective communication and collaboration with all stakeholders and plants.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior controls engineers.
- Design and troubleshoot electrical control systems.
- Engage in the development and testing of advanced process technologies.

Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in controls or automation engineering.
- Proficient in programming and debugging Siemens PLCs.
- Experience in hardware design for PLCs.
- Familiarity with HMI modifications.
- Automotive industry experience is preferred.
- GCCH/GCCS certifications are a plus.
